DOWNWIND SUP CAMPS
Gorge Downwind Championships Camp – July 17th – 22nd
Join Chase for the July 17th camp to receive professional downwind instruction while experiencing a week of fun at the Gorge Downwind Championships. This event has a unique festival atmosphere where we will do daily downwinders and finish at the beer-sponsored ‘Downwind Village’. Friday, Saturday or Sunday are chosen for the championship race depending on which day is the windiest. Find out more about the Gorge Downwind Championships here.
Downwind Week – August 3rd – 5th
There are no other races going on during this camp but the wind will still be cranking! Join me during to enjoy the world class downwind stand up paddle conditions of the Columbia River Gorge.
Gorge Paddle Challenge Camp – August 16th – 20th
The Gorge Paddle Challenge attracts elite SUP athletes from around the world as one of this biggest SUP races in the region. Participate in the camp to master your downwind skills before racing in the single or infamous ‘double downwinder’ during the weekend. You can choose to only do the camp dates of August 16th-19th or you can extend your stay and compete in the Gorge Paddle Challenge on August 19th and 20th. More about the Gorge Paddle Challenge here.
Bonus Planetary Event!
On August 21st there will be a total solar eclipse passing 45 minutes south of Hood River. I’ll be driving to watch and possibly paddle during the first total eclipse in the US since 1979! Join me for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Chase will guide you every step of the way as you enjoy Gorge downwinders. Chase has spent 5 summers paddling in Hood River and considers the Columbia River Gorge and surrounding area to be one of the world’s best paddling destinations.
The Columbia River Gorge is a designated National Scenic Area with beautiful vistas for the whole family to enjoy. The paddling is amazing and the views are just as good!
