Camp Dates
Gorge Downwind Championships Camp – July 16th – 21st
Join Chase for the July 16th camp to receive professional downwind instruction while experiencing a week of fun at the Gorge Downwind Championships. This event has a unique festival atmosphere where we will do daily downwinders and finish at the beer-sponsored ‘Downwind Village’. Friday, Saturday or Sunday are chosen for the championship race depending on which day is the windiest. Find out more about the Gorge Downwind Championships here.
Downwind Camps – July 23rd – August 9th
There are no other races going on during these camps but the wind will still be cranking! Join me during to enjoy the world class downwind stand up paddle conditions of the Columbia River Gorge.
Gorge Paddle Challenge Camp – August 14th – 16th
The Gorge Paddle Challenge attracts elite SUP athletes from around the world as one of this biggest SUP races in the region. Participate in the camp to master your downwind skills before racing in the single or infamous ‘double downwinder’ during the weekend. You can choose to only do the camp dates of August 14th-16th or you can extend your stay and compete in the Gorge Paddle Challenge on August 18th and 19th. More about the Gorge Paddle Challenge here.

Join coach and professional paddler, Chase Kosterlitz, for world-class downwind stand up paddling through the Columbia River Gorge!
Hood River, Oregon and the Columbia River Gorge offer amazing downwind paddling conditions. Gorge downwinders are known as some of the best downwind runs in the world. The Columbia River provides consistent wind with a safe and easy setting to improve your downwind paddling or to try it for the first time.
Chase will guide you every step of the way as you enjoy Gorge downwinders. Chase has spent 6 summers paddling in Hood River and considers the Columbia River Gorge and surrounding area to be one of the world’s best paddling destinations.
The Columbia River Gorge is a designated National Scenic Area with beautiful vistas for the whole family to enjoy. The paddling is amazing and the views are just as good!
